Founder David Knox sees light as a beautiful stream of energy which is ours to bend, shape, spread, change and with which to live in harmony. He uses light as a medium of art, science and purpose, utilizing laser technology to create the colors and luminescent appeal of the Lightstreams Glass Tile products.
Lightstreams does not use paint to create a “colored” glass tile because 1) paint is the least costly method to add hue to glass, 2) paint is not permanent and can separate from the glass, 3) paint may react adversely to setting materials and could degrade after installation, 4) paint is opaque and negates the VISUAL RICHNESS that transparent glass offers.
Because the tiles are high quality there are no brittle and jagged edges. They are individually polished and the corners are smooth to the touch. They can be cleanly cut allowing for mitered corners and fitting around curves.
Glass is a “green” material. Lightstreams Glass tile is made of the finest raw materials so there is no danger of expansion and contraction causing stresses. The quality of the select raw materials ensure that Lightstreams Glass tile has superior technical structure, outstanding clarity and unique beauty.
