Movement • How does a fixed-built item create movement? We design and think in 3D. We move through the space and create the natural pathways around the space. There should be enough room for walking, and a pleasing view from all directions. We can create that view through landscaping, elements such as retaining walls, rocks, fire, waterfalls and light. Adding movement gives a space a feeling of aliveness—which can be cozy or energetic.
